We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for fun and development in a family-friendly environment. | KICKERS - NEW spring 2010 |
This is designed much like the current Hobbits Program, but adjusted for this particular age group. The entire group is lead by a “Head Coach” who will lead the warm-up sessions with the Kickers. After the warm-up session parents will be asked to lead and/or participate in some of the soccer activities for small groups (6-8 kids) of Kickers. The instructions will be easy actions, such as “Kick the soccer ball through your mom’s or dad’s legs and make them bring ! it back to you.” Other examples of activities are: 1) fun exercises with and without the ball, 2) some basic soccer drills such as kicking and stopping the ball, and 3) dribbling with the ball from goal to goal. At this age passing and playing together is not what the Kicker wants to do. Therefore, no scrimmages are planned. They do play ball games like green light/red light, sharks and minnows, and others. Many brief water breaks will give the Kickers plenty of opportunities to rest and socialize with their parents/guardians or fellow Kickers. Each player will receive a soccer ball and soccer T-shirt. One-hour sessions are played at the YSI fields (Wakarusa and 27th Street) on each of seven Saturdays at 11 am starting April 3rd. Online registration is open up to April 10th and registration fee is $67. You can register for the Kickers program using the Registration link on this website. More information can be found in the "Kickers" flyer.

| HOBBITS |
This is a parent-child soccer program for 4 and 5 year olds not yet in Kindergarten. KVSA will guide parents and their Hobbits in one hour of skills training and soccer games. Parents participate in the skills training. Sessions are held at YSI Sport Complex (4911 W. 27th Street, Lawrence) on Saturdays. No practices are held during the week. Shin guards and a T-shirt are required. Fees include a Hobbit T-shirt and soccer ball for all players.
| RECREATION LEAGUE |
| A 7-game fall and spring season is organized each school year. Practices are held once or twice a week in the player’s school area. No win/loss statistics or standings are kept; no awards are given. Players are assigned to teams by school attended if possible. Players assigned in the fall to a team stay together for the spring season, if these players re-register for the spring season by the deadline. Players must wear shin guards, red/blue shirt(s), and soccer approved shoes. The optional KVSA player jersey will be sold on the first 3 game days from 8.00-11:00 AM, at Field 11. The Fall season runs from August 28 to October 23, 2010. All 7 games are played in Lawrence at the YSI Sports complex. Player and parent commitment in recreational soccer is usually not too intense and players often play other sports. |
| CLUB LEAGUE |
The Club League is an intermediate program emphasizing fundamental technical skills and tactics. The curriculum is age-appropriate and follows US Youth Soccer guidelines. Instruction is provided by qualified coaches under the guidance of the Club League director. This league promotes local competitive play among teams within KVSA, and all games are played at the YSI Sports Complex. There are two 9 game seasons: fall and spring. Fall teams remain together for the spring season, although the fees for each season are paid separately. Players are rostered from August to May. Player fees do not include uniforms. Uniforms must be purchased from KVSA (see details in the Club League page). Divisions currently include coed U10, U12 and U14. Since we are starting the U10 and U12 Girls Academy, the Club League will be mostly boys, but will remain in principle coed. Players practice twice each week. Games are played on Saturday and occasionally on a Sunday or weeknight. The Fall season runs from mid August to late October.
| GIRLS ACADEMY - NEW FOR FALL 2010 |
The focus of the KVSA Girls Soccer Academy is to serve the female athlete. The goal is to improve player’s comfort level by increasing technical ability and using the skills in the KVSA All Girls Soccer League. Girls Soccer Academy teams will be formed by neighborhood whenever possible. The girls will play 8 games in a KVSA All Girls League. The Fall 2010 season runs from August 28 to October 23, 2010. All 8 games are played in Lawrence at the YSI Sports complex.

The Premier Program offers players the most competitive soccer experience and an experienced professional coaching staff. We promote development through fun and skills: the more skills you have, the more fun. The more fun you have, the harder you work. The premier teams are called "Kaw Valley Force". All games are played against teams from other Premier clubs at Heritage Soccer Complex in Olathe and/or at regional tournaments. Players are selected to teams by tryouts or by invitation. Please visit the Premier page for further information.
